The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration uses an immunological assay when testing for THC Marijuana. That assay can detect levels as low as 50ng/ml of THC. The Dip Strip Test can detect comparable levels of THC in a test subject. The test takes no more than 3 to 5 minutes.
The Test Strips have been packed in a sterile pouch. After a strip has been dipped into a urine sample, it is easy to interpret the Test results. First, the tester must locate the Control Band. That is the color band in the left section of the result window. Appearance of the Control band indicates that the Test components are all working properly.
The actual test band appears in the right hand section of the Results window. The appearance of two bands indicates that the test has yielded a negative result. The appearance of one color band indicates that the test result is positive. The absence of any band indicates that the alleged result is an invalid result.
Note: Due to the chemical nature of the THC, the color of the Test band in the Results window is much fainter than the colr of the Test band of other drugs, drugs tested for by other drug tests. It is best to read the Results window in a well-lighted location.
Tip: A faint band in the Results window indicates that the tested sample contains a THC level that is near to the minimum amount that can show up following a detection procedure.
Warning: The above-mentioned faint band can signal the need for a retest. The tested urine sample has shown that it should be the focus of a retest. The original test sample has been shown to have THC level that is close to the minimum detectable level. A sample with such a low level needs to be retested.
